Lake Louise Mountain Resort

Lake Louise

The hamlet of Lake Louise, situated some 45 minutes (57 km) from Banff by car, is home to Lake Louise Mountain Resort, one of the biggest and best ski resorts in North America.

Surrounded by scenery straight from a picture postcard, the resort offers 139 runs across 4,200 skiable acres of light, dry champagne powder on four mountains, ranging from long tree-lined trails to exhilarating super steep chutes and amazing wide open bowls. There is something here for all levels and styles, and because there are beginner, intermediate and expert runs down from every chairlift, even mixed-ability groups can ski together.

The resort is situated about 4 km outside the village itself, with a complimentary bus service operating between Lake Louise Mountain Resort and the Lake Louise Inn, Post Hotel and the Chateau Lake Louise every 30 minutes during peak season (mid-December through mid-April), and every hour during the balance of the ski season.

The TELUS Terrain Park at Lake Louise has a number of jumps, rails, and tabletops for skiers and riders of all ability levels, including a novice, intermediate and family area, and hosts a number of park competitions throughout the season.

From mid-December to the end of March, don't miss the Torchlight Dinner and Ski, a weekly event that includes an après-ski party with appetizers, a full buffet dinner, live entertainment and a guided torchlight ski down the mountain, with bus service back to your Lake Louise and Banff hotels.

The Ski Banff-Lake Louise-Sunshine tri-area lift ticket can be used at Lake Louise, which gives the holder free use of the shuttle bus service from Banff, and also includes one free night-skiing session at Ski Norquay. Check SkiBig3 for more details.

The shuttle bus service from Banff and picks up at many downtown hotel locations in downtown daily.

Ski season at Lake Louise runs from around mid November through to early May.
