Lake Minnewanka Boat Tours, Banff![]() Lake Minnewanka, the largest lake in Banff National Park, is surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in the Canadian Rockies. The lake cruise features a 1.5 hour interpretive tour of Lake Minnewanka and the surrounding area, with an entertaining narrative that takes passengers through the area's history, geology, flora and fauna. All boats are glass-enclosed and fully wheelchair accessible. The tour takes in views of Mount Aylmer, Mount Inglismaldie, and the hoodoo clusters, culminating with the famous Devil's Gap, a glacial path carved through Lake Minnewanka from the foothills of the Rockies. In addition to sightseeing tours, 3.5 hour charter fishing tours are also offered in one of four 22-foot cabin cruisers, fully equipped with fishing tackle, including rods and reels, and sonar equipment to help locate fish. Lake Minnewanka has a ready supply of lake trout, splake, and whitefish. 16-foot aluminum motorboats are also available for leisure rentals. Lake Minnewanka is located a short 15 minute drive from the Banff town site. Brewster also operates a coach service from Banff to arrive at the lake just prior to boat departures with pick-up service at the Banff Springs Hotel and most of the major hotels and motels in Banff.
