Its location on the side of Sulphur Mountain means that it is only a short walking distance to the Upper Hot Springs and the Banff Gondola, and although some distance from the action of downtown Banff, the hotel provides complimentary access to Banff's excellent Public Transit service from the Rimrock to downtown Banff.

The Rimrock has 346 guestrooms, including 27 suites, generally categorized by their view, going from Superior through to Deluxe, Premium, GrandView and the ultimate in luxury and breathtaking views of the Canadian Rockies, the Signature GrandView rooms. All rooms are spacious, some have balconies, and most have mountain or alpine views, with the exception of certain Superior rooms that may be obscured by parts of the hotel

There are two restaurants on-site, the 5-diamond Eden Dining Room and the Primrose Restaurant, along with the Larkspur lobby lounge and the Hollywood-themed Divas martini jazz lounge.
