Brewster's Mountain Lodge, Banff![]() The lodge features hand-made log furnishings and western decor, with interesting historical photographs from the Brewster family's collection adorning the walls. The Brewsters are a prominent local family with strong historical links to Banff's development as a tourist destination. Today, they remain involved in the operation of several businesses and attractions in the Bow Valley. Opened in 1996, the lodge has 60 comfortable guestrooms comprising Superior rooms with two queen-size beds, Deluxe rooms with balcony, and 17 suites, some with vaulted ceilings and balconies. Room rates include a complimentary light continental breakfast served daily in the hotel's mezzanine area. Some rooms have mountain views, but guests wanting to avoid the noise and bustle of downtown Banff should consider staying in the quieter rooms overlooking the courtyard rather than the street. The lodge doesn't have the guest facilities of a full-service hotel, but if all you need is a conveniently-located and comfortable base during your time in Banff, then Brewster's Mountain Lodge is hard to beat. In terms of guest facilities, there is a sauna, whirlpool and exercise equipment, and a seating area around the large lobby fireplace with a small guest library. There is no hotel bar and restaurant, but the award-winning Café Soleil mediterranean tapas and wine bar is in the same building, and you are as close to downtown Banff as it gets so there is plenty of choice of bars and restaurants within a few blocks of the hotel. Facilities:
The shuttle buses to the Big 3 ski areas (Mount Norquay, Sunshine Village and Lake Louise) stop nearby at the Mount Royal Hotel or the Banff Park Lodge.
