Banff Y Mountain Lodge

The Banff Y Mountain Lodge is a good choice for budget travellers because the YWCA's non-profit status means no GST or hotel tax on the room rates. Funds generated by the Y Mountain Lodge are used to fund the community activities of the YWCA in Banff

Non-YWCA members can stay here, but those purchasing a YWCA of Banff membership are entitled to 10% off rooms and meals. YWCA of Calgary's memberships and Hostelling International memberships will also be honoured for discounts on rooms.

Private rooms are clean and functional, and include linens and towels, with shared or private bathrooms available. There is a common room on the main floor with comfortable seating, TV and fireplace. In addition to a communal kitchen, there is a full service, licensed café on site, the Sundance Bistro, that serves breakfast and light meals, and is a good place to stop for coffee.

The Banff Y Mountain Lodge is located across from the Parks Canada Administration Building, next to the walking trails along the banks of the Bow River, and is just a five minute walk over the bridge to the shops, bars and restaurants of downtown Banff. To reach the hostel by car from Banff Avenue, cross the bridge over the Bow River, staying in the left lane, and it is immediately on your left.
