The hostel's own pub and gamehouse, the Storm Cellar, is a great place to meet new friends over a beer, and has free pool, darts and foosball. Cougar Pete's Kitchen and Lookout, the hostel's full-service restaurant, offers affordable meals all day and is a popular spot for breakfast.

From the hostel's location on Tunnel Mountain Road, it is a 20-minute walk downhill into downtown Banff, but Banff's public transit bus also stops nearby and runs every 40 minutes into downtown Banff and back again from early morning until late evening.

The HI-Banff Alpine Centre is an extremely popular hostel, so early reservations are recommended, particularly in summer months.
