Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies

The Whyte Museum was opened in 1968 by the Peter and Catharine Whyte Foundation. The museum acquires, preserves and exhibits various items of art and artifacts relating to the Canadian Rockies with the aim of providing an insight into the cultural heritage of Canada's Rocky Mountains.

The museum shop carries a range of handcrafted jewellery, artwork by local and regional artists, prints and posters, cards, and gifts. The shop has a second location in Banff at Buffalo Corner (101 Banff Avenue at Buffalo Street).
