106.5 Mountain FM, Banff

Mountain FM is an Adult Contemporary format radio station broadcasting to Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise. It is owned by Rogers Communications Inc and is the only local commercial radio station in the Bow Valley.

Tune in to the Morning Mountain Show with Rob Murray and Desirae Burns every weekday between 6 am - 10 am for music and entertainment, along with up-to-the-minute news, road and weather reports for the Bow Valley. During ski season, Mountain FM provides ski and snow reports throughout the day.

History

The station has its origins in the AM station CFHC which broadcast to Banff and Canmore until 1997. On 10 July 1997, an FM license was granted to Rogers Broadcasting to broadcast from Canmore on 106.5Mhz, with a transmitter at Banff operating on the same frequency. The license was conditional on Rogers surrendering its AM license for CFHC.

Mountain FM can be heard in the Banff area on 106.5MHz FM and on cable at 107.1Mhz.
