96.9 JACK FM CKIS

CKIS JACK FM
JACK FM is a Classic Hits format radio station broadcasting from Calgary, Alberta, owned by Rogers Broadcasting Inc.

Like many other JACK-branded stations it uses the 'Playing what we want' tagline and has a long playlist covering songs from the 1970s, 80s and 90s along with a selection of current Hot Adult Contemporary music.

The station first aired on 3 June 1996 as KISS FM, playing a mix of rock, pop, alternative and country. Rogers Broadcasting acquired the station from Rawlco in 1999 and in October of that year, changed its name to Rock 97 and switched to a Classic Rock format. During this time, the station's call sign also changed to CHRK-FM.

In 2002, Rock 97 switched formats to become the first exclusively hip hop, rhythm and R&B FM station in Calgary and changed its name to New KISS 96.9.

On 1 April 2003, the station returned to its CKIS call letters and launched in its present form as JACK FM.

Since 1997, the station has operated a rebroadcasting FM transmitter in Banff, and since 1998, in Lake Louise. The station can be heard in Banff on 94.1Mhz FM and Lake Louise on 93.9MHz FM.
