Banff Public Library

Banff Public Library
Banff Public Library is located on the corner of Bear St and Buffalo St, just across from Banff Post Office.

Library cards are free for Banff residents, and have been since Banff Public Library became the first library in Alberta to remove membership fees for local residents on January 1, 2000. Non-residents can join for a non-refundable annual fee of $60.

A library card permits the holder to borrow books, magazines, compact discs, videos and DVDs from the library. Banff Public Library card-holders may also request a card that enables them to use the Banff Centre Library at no charge.

Non card holders can still attend events at Banff Public Library, access the internet and use materials within the library. Banff Public Library offers free internet access for research or other library-related functions, and is available by daily appointment. Internet access for web-based e-mail is charged at $1 for 30 minutes or any part thereof. The library also has photocopying facilities available.

Events held at Banff Public Library include baby, toddler and preschooler story and song sessions, reading programmes for children, and art exhibitions.
