Hi Gill

My girlfriend (now wife) and I have stayed at the YWCA hostel in Banff twice and, as hostels go, it has been fine each time. It is called the Banff Y Mountain Lodge and is located just a five minute walk over the bridge from downtown Banff.

The best things about it are price and location. Because the YWCA is a charity, there is no GST or hotel tax charged on the room rates.

Last time, we paid around $80 for a third-floor private room with shared bathroom and amazing mountain views. There are also private rooms with their own bathroom (a little more expensive) and typical hostel dorms too (much cheaper).

There is an OK restaurant on site, but you also have plenty of places to eat and drink in downtown Banff too.

Enjoy yourselves in Banff, I know you will.
