Hertz (www.hertz.com) at the Banff Springs Hotel, 127 Spray Ave., Banff Tel: 403-762-2027
I don't know where you're staying, but note that Hertz is at the Banff Springs Hotel while all the others are downtown. I have heard, however, that if you are staying downtown and need to take a cab to the Banff Springs Hotel to pick up a Hertz car, obtain a receipt for your taxi fare and they will reimburse the cost. I don't know if this is still the case, but it's worth checking with them, particularly if the Hertz rates are better than the others.
All will probably charge a one-way rental fee if you are dropping the car off at the airport. One thing I have noticed is that often, rental rates for the same car class tend to be more expensive in Banff than at Calgary Airport, so you might want to think again about picking a car up when you land. The drive from Calgary to Banff is fine and conditions should be good in September.
I do understand though about being tired after a long flight.
Hope this helps
