The Eddie Burger & Bar, BanffGourmet burgers don't come much better than this. The opening of The Eddie in December 2008 was a welcome addition to Banff's ever changing dining scene, offering awesome signature burgers in half pound, three quarter pound and one-pound sizes, or the option of building your own with a choice of beef, bison, lamb, chicken or veggie and a selection of buns and fillings. All come with a selection of sides including crisp golden fries, sweet potato fries or onion rings. In addition to burgers and fries, there are chicken wings and also salads for a healthier option. Co-owned by Joe Gregory, operating partner of Banff's Hoodoo Lounge nightclub, this modern take on the diner is located on the site of the former King Edward Hotel next to Subway, in between the Maple Leaf Grill & Lounge and the Hoodoo Lounge on Banff Avenue and Caribou Street, and features a variety of specials, including $6 cheeseburgers on Mondays, $10 pitchers of Kokanee beer on Thursdays, and daily happy hour between 2 - 5 pm. The 42-seat venue is small but contemporary, with several flat screen TVs showing ski movies, UFC and other sporting events in high definition, and a unique glass and stainless steel wine dispenser at the bar. The Eddie also offers a scaled down menu for kids and serves a range of delicious creamy milkshakes made with MacKays ice cream, along with an excellent selection of beers, wines and cocktails.
