Bison Mountain Bistro & General Store, Banff

Downstairs is an upscale general store and delicatessen selling fine cheeses, specialty meats, and delectable gourmet sandwiches for that extra special hiking picnic. The stylish Mountain Bistro upstairs has a simple elegance with an open kitchen, minimalist decor, extensive use of reclaimed Douglas Fir timber throughout, polished concrete floors and large expanses of glass letting in natural light. The dining area opens onto a sunny patio area with amazing mountain views.

The Bison Mountain Bistro serves what it calls 'Rocky Mountain comfort food', with interesting dishes such as Bison Burger with Saskatoon Berry Chutney, Wild Mushroom Tagliatelle, Merguez Corndogs, and Shrimp & Crab Mini Tacos.

The dining room is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner, and offers brunch at weekends until 3 pm. The lounge is a popular spot for cocktails or a beer, and also serves light meals and snacks. There is a three-hour happy hour daily until 6 pm.
