Cows, Banff

Cows first began making vanilla ice cream in 1983 at its Cavendish Boardwalk store in Prince Edward Island. It has since expanded across Canada and has a store on Banff Avenue in Banff.

In 2006, Reader's Digest magazine voted Cows ice cream the best in Canada. It is made with high butterfat milk and only the finest ingredients are used, such as pure vanilla from Madagascar, quality Dutch cocoa powder, and fresh Island strawberries.

Cows ice cream is served in hand-made waffle cones, and the range of over thirty flavours includes such delights as:

Spotted the 'cow' theme yet? Indeed, a large fibreglass cow greets you as you enter the Banff store, and in addition to ice cream, there is a range of cow-themed T-shirts, mugs and caps on sale.
