Describing itself as the 'International Tea Store of the Rockies', the Banff Tea Co store on Caribou Street features over 100 different teas from around the world along with a selection of eclectic and colourful teapots.
Each tea is stored in jars on wooden shelves, with samples of each in 'snifter' tins that allow you to savour the aroma of each variety before you buy - they say that if you like the smell then you'll like the taste. There are tea varieties here to suit all tastes, including:

Banff Tea Co. also has a social conscience, with a share of its profits reportedly going back to grass roots charities and farmers in the (mostly) third world countries where the tea comes from.
History Banff Tea Co was established in June 2007 by Barry Thorson and Susanne Gillies Smith. Ms. Gillies Smith was brought up around tea, as her father, the late Peter Gillies Smith, operated the Plain of Six Glaciers Tea House near Lake Louise from the 1950s, and it continues to owned by her today.
